Cabins in the Clouds is located two hours north of Hornsby via the F3 Freeway, via Maitland, Paterson & Vacy.

Key pick-up instructions are given to all guests staying at Cabins in the Clouds.

Directions from Sydney to Cabins in the Clouds, 424 Moonabung Road, VACY

If using a GPS please note it can only be set to reach the destination of Vacy. It may also take you a different way to the directions below. If you follow the directions below they will take you on the most direct route.

  • Take the Sydney – Newcastle (F3) expressway north towards Newcastle. At the end of the freeway keep going straight ahead through the big roundabout. Keep going till the end.
  • Turn left onto the New England Highway and continue along going through East Maitland.
  • Turn right at the Melbourne Street traffic lights, East Maitland then take the next left at Pitnacree Road
  • Continue on this road until the end, then turn right at the roundabout on to Paterson Road.
  • If you need to use your mobile phone DO IT NOW as mobile phones may not work outside of Maitland. Cabins in the Clouds is approx. 40 minutes from here.
  • Continue on this road until the end, then turn left at the T intersection and continue on to Vacy.
  • Turn left at Summer Hill Road, just over the bridge at the end of the town of Vacy.
  • About 6 kilometres along Summer Hill Road, turn turn left at the large "Eaglereach" sign on to Moonabung Road. 
  • Travel to the top of the mountain, (4kms).
  • Stay on Moonabung Road as it veers to the right. Do not go through the boom gate on your left.  You will see a small sign to Cabins in the Clouds, pointing up the hill to the right. 
  • The large picture sign for Cabins in the Clouds is at the open wooden gates
  • Look for your cabin on the mud map on the tree to your left
  • Remember to watch out for wildlife especially kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos, goannas, echidnas, and lizards.
